Invisalign (Invisible Braces)

Straighten your smile without the need for metal braces.

What is ‘Invisalign’?

Invisalign allows you to straighten your smile without anyone knowing you’re wearing braces. Invisalign braces are clear aligners, which sit over your teeth and are nearly invisible.

They are easy to remove and each aligner is individually manufactured to suit your teeth. Every two weeks you change for a new set of aligners, as you replace each aligner your teeth move until they have straightened.

Who would benefit from Invisalign?

Invisalign may be ideal for you if you suffer from any of the following dental problems:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Overcrowded Teeth
  • Widely Spaced Teeth
What are the key benefits of Invisalign?

There are many benefits to using Invisalign, some of its key advantages include:

Your aligners are custom made to fit your teeth perfectly due to your dentist taking impressions of your teeth to create the aligners.

As soon as you put in your first aligner teeth begin to straighten.

They are easily removable as the aligners need to be changed every two weeks. They can also be removed to eat, floss, drink and for special occasions.

Without metal brackets or wires your gums and mouth are a lot more comfortable than conventional braces.

Since Invisalign is practically invisible no one will be able to tell that you are wearing them.

The Invisalign Procedure

The journey towards a brand-new smile is simple with Invisalign, your dentist will determine during an initial consultation whether Invisalign is right for your needs and then develop a treatment plan. A typical treatment plan and procedure will look like this:

  1. Initial Consultation
The initial consultation determines your suitability for Invisalign and your dentist will discuss what you’re hoping to achieve. Impressions of your teeth will be taken and sent to the laboratories for processing.
  2. Treatment Plan
The impression of your teeth is digitised so you can see a computerised 3D image of your teeth. This allows you to see what your teeth will look like before, during and after Invisalign treatment and what you results you can expect.
  3. Bespoke Aligners
Once a treatment plan is finalised bespoke aligners are custom made for you and worn for around two weeks before you switch to the next aligner. For the upper and lower teeth most people need 18-36 aligners for a full treatment which they will use for 9-18 months depending on their needs.
  4. Treatment Process
During your treatment process you will need to wear your aligners during the day and night but must take them out for eating, brushing or flossing. A check-up every 4-6 weeks will be required to monitor progress and receive the next stage of your aligners.

As you continue your treatment your teeth will gradually move into a healthy and even smile.
